Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SplitterBot™ website and mobile application (together, the "Service"), operated by Ugarte Enterprises LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

SplitterBot™ is a receipt-splitting tool that allows you to scan or manually enter receipts, assign items to people, and calculate each person's share including tax, tip, and fees. The Service generates shareable summaries and payment deep links to third-party payment applications.

2. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may sign in with email/password, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In. Social sign-in is subject to the respective provider's terms.

3. Subscription Plans and Pricing

The Service offers the following plans:

  • Free Trial: 3 free receipts per account. No payment required and no time limit on when you use them. Once used, the free receipts are not refunded if you delete a receipt or delete your account.
  • Pay Per Use: $0.99 per receipt. Credits never expire and do not require a subscription.
  • Monthly Plan: $2.99/month for up to 5 receipts per month.
  • Annual Plan: $9.99/year for up to 1,000 receipts per year.

Prices are in USD and may vary by region based on App Store or Google Play Store pricing.

4. Billing and Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Monthly and annual subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their respective refund policies.

After your free receipts are used, you must subscribe or purchase individual credits to continue using the Service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for fraudulent purposes or to misrepresent financial obligations
  • Upload images that are not receipts to abuse processing services
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription limits or free trial restrictions
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

6. Receipt Data and Accuracy

SplitterBot™ uses optical character recognition (OCR) to extract data from receipt images. While we strive for accuracy, OCR results may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting extracted data before sharing a split.

SplitterBot™ is a convenience tool and does not guarantee the accuracy of receipt scanning, calculations, or payment links.

7. Payment Links

The Service generates deep links to third-party payment applications (Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, Zelle). These links are provided for convenience only. We are not affiliated with these services and are not responsible for any transactions conducted through them.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of Ugarte Enterprises LLC. You retain ownership of all receipt data and content you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SplitterBot™ and Ugarte Enterprises LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Errors in receipt scanning or calculations
  • Payment disputes between users
  • Service interruptions or data loss
  • Actions of third-party payment services

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the State of California. You agree to waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in class action lawsuits.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective Date" at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
